Kriss Group SA is seeking bankruptcy protections for its 3 Switzerland subsidiaries, but Kriss USA is not in trouble.

Kriss Group SA did not get a contract with a foreign government which affects the Switzerland subsidiaries. Kriss USA will take charge of all business activities including those of Switzerland subsidiaries.

This is a rifle submitted by Auto-Ordnance Company for US Army trial of 1921 for semi-auto service rifles. The rifle didn't fair well, thanks to its oiled felt pads.

Secret Service explains what they want

US Secret Service recently announced they are looking for a new rifle, and there are some explanations posted.

-the gun needs to have service life of 20,000 rounds, with requirements for accuracy and velocity.
-accuracy will be checked at 10,000-15,000 and 20,000 rounds.
-bore and gas port will be monitored through out the testing
-a two person team will test the rifle, one shooting and one loading magazine. First 4 magazines will be shot in semi-auto, the last will be in 3 to 4 round burst in full-auto mode. No mag dump.

Don't put your hand in front of muzzle

A shooter decided to check his new laser beam by putting his hand in front of it. And also didn't realize his finger was on the trigger.



This accident would have been avoidable if he did not break the 4 rules of safety. Being safe is paramount and it is one of things a shooter must be aware of at all times.

Miami shootout - 30th anniversary

There are several major incidents that changed the way US law enforcement agencies choose equipments. One of them was 1986 Miami shootout resulting in deaths of 2 Special Agents and 2 bank robbers.

The incident was the catalyst for FBI's change to 10mm, followed by .40 S&W, which lead to nationwide conversion to .40 S&W as the firearm of choice.

African poacher's Chinese AK


@jonwaynetaylor posted a photo of Chinese Type 56 he obtained from the CEO of Underground Tactical on his Instagram.

The handguard is made with wood sticks tightened together with strings, sling is made of car seat belt, and grip is a stick. And trigger guard is missing.

Surprisingly this still shoots.

Nazi Mauser Luger


Rock Island Auction Company has a genuine Nazi Luger with paper trails to prove its ownership history.

It was made for German Ministry, and the authentication letter from a Mauser rep from 1986 confirms it. It was given to Franz von Papen by Joachim von Ribbentrop, Foreign Minister of the German Reich.

H&K was awarded this contract which has fixed cost of $44.5 miliion. Other finalists were LMT and FNH USA. The firearm H&K submitted is reportedly G28E1.

According to Soldier Systems Daily, there is some possible indication that this could replace M110.

FireClean sues Vuurwapen blog

Last September, Vuurwapen Blog's Andew Tuohy posted his analysis of FireClean using infrared spectroscopy. This article caused a bit of stir and really exploded when The Firearm Blog posted the news saying FireClean is Crisco.

Now FireClean is suing Andrew Tuohy and Everett Baker for defamation.
