Proposed guidelines for smartguns

National Institute of Justice posted guidelines for smart guns, more specifically, Law Enforcement Service Pistols with Security Technology

The interesting parts revolve around "security device" designed to prevent unauthorized uses and disabling the gun when not used by unauthorized users. The security device must be a part of gun, but also including externally worn items such as rings, wristbands, or tokens.

The proposal is open for public input until Sept. 13
