MK47 Mutant is the latest in the AR/AK hybrid and there were some pleasant surprises. Initial press release was a bit of generic description but holding the actual rifle is a different experience.
The MK47 Mutant was not just another piston AK in AR clothing. CMMG re-engineered to use thicker bolt(on the right)
The magazine release protrudes to left and right so shooters can easily push the paddle to release the magazine. The length of the lever assists in reducing force required to push it. This was an unexpected nice surprise.
The rifle uses proprietary bolt carrier group that is smaller than typical AR bolt in 7.62
